Fashion tips for skinny men

When you are skinny, your clothing should be such so that it adds few pounds on your otherwise lanky statute.
You sure do not want to look like a clothes hanger. So, understand your clothing type for an elegant dressing and a sharp look.
Choose fitted shirt. Loose-fitting, un-tucked shirts will make you swim inside. Choose something that will rest perfectly on your shoulders and around your chest. However, do avoid skin hugging clothes as they will highlight your upper (bony) frame. Collared t-shirts or polos add a certain amount of fullness to the body.
Wear bottoms with various patterns like checks, hounds-tooth, and stripes as they add volume to the garment. Try single pleated trouser, when in vogue. Else, flat front is the safer bet. You can also engage in cuffed bottoms. The cut of the bottoms should be generous enough though not baggy.
Please do not indulge in skinny jeans. A straight cut or boot cut jeans will look good on your thin structure.

Suits & Jackets

On a thin person, the double-breasted suit is the best option while a two-buttoned single breasted suit also works fine. It’s important to have a broad shoulder silhouette. For this the jacket’s shoulder should be softly padded. Sharply squared, exaggerated shoulder widths can make you look like a lollipop. The trousers should have turn-ups. Wider lapels and side back vents adds body to the frame.
Make sure all your jackets cover just your bumps. A shorter jacket will highlight your skinny waist. A longer one, on the other hand, will make you like a stick under a blanket.

Patterns & Colors

Visual width can be added by wearing smaller patterned plaids and hounds-tooth checks. Large-sized ones tend to overpower a slender frame. Stay far from vertical stripes. Horizontal pattern instead will look flattering.
Solid color from top to bottom will make you look thinner than you can ever imagine. So have a color-break in your outfit. Generally, bright colors make the body appear larger. For bottoms, though, avoid very light or pale shades. Warm tones work better and give an impression of fullness.

Accessories

Shoes and sandals that taper to a square or a pointy front help balance the overall look. Shoes with a round toe will make you look disproportionate. Avoid something which is overly round in shape from the front.
Too wide ties
look exaggerated on a slim person. Bold patterns with medium width accentuate the look. Narrow ties are a big NO for skinny men like you.
Belts
give a generous look but something broader than the usual width will overpower your thin frame.
As a final note, wear what complements your frame and, more importantly, be confident in your skin.
