How to Look Slimmer?

Not all of us are born with great supermodel bods. Some of us work hard on the treadmill to fit ourselves into that bandage dress that we burned a hole in our pockets buying.

Others pop pills in the hope of shedding those extra kilos while most skip meals and resign to their fate. However, there's a solution. You can dress appropriately to make yourself look slimmer than you actually are. Here are some tips on how to go about it.

1. Let's start inside out! First, make sure that you are wearing the right underwear. While thongs and G-strings sound sexy, if you have body fat, they'd do nothing good for you. Go for supportive styles that would help suck your tummy in and trim your thighs. If you are top heavy, choose a bra that supports your twins. Make sure the straps are not loose and the cups fit you well. A sag makes you look frumpier, fatter than you are.

2. The basic rule of thumb to look slim is to choose clothes that fit you just right. Wearing a size too large makes you look bigger. On the other hand, wearing a size too small makes you spill out, look shapeless. Ideally, choose clothes that just skim over your problem areas. Stay away from tight jersey dresses or micro minis if you feel you'll spill.

3. Avoid pants with front pleats at all cost. The pleats poof out and make your stomach look baggier. Pay attention to the waist as well. A waist too high would make your stomach bulge out even if it's flat. A waist too low would make your tummy spill out over the waist band.

4. Highlight your best features. If your waist is too thick but you have a great neckline, highlight that with quirky accessories. Alternatively, if you have chunky thighs but your arms are toned, wear sleeveless dresses more often.

5. Work on your posture. Suck your tummy in, straighten your shoulders and lift your chin up. Bad posture can make you look slouchy and fat.

6. Wear black more often. If you are tired of monotony, break it up with accessories like a red obi belt to cinch your waist or chunky chains etc.

7. The key to look and feel great lies in the confidence level that you have. Love yourself the way you are and you'll look beautiful too!
